Family and field trip

Dave coming home from work

The picture of Dave will probably be a rarity on my blog because he doesn't like to have his picture taken. I ambushed him as he was coming home from work, so he didn't have much of a choice this time.

On Friday, Dave went with Carter on a field trip for school. They went to a place here in Wilmington called JA Biztown. It's a place that lets kids experience doing an adult job for a day. Carter was a CEO of a business. There were about 8 kids in his group, and Dave was their chaperone. He told the kids at the beginning of the day that even if they weren't good friends with each other, they still needed to work together, because in the real world, you aren't always going to be friends with everyone you work with, but you still need to get along and work together to get the job done. Carter's company sold blank cds. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon, the kids were given paychecks. They could only cash the checks during lunch or during their break, and then they could buy something with their Biztown money. Carter's group did great, and they were named Biztown business of the day! Dave said that at the end of the day, one of the kids said they were really tired and being an adult was really hard!

Hair trouble

A few days ago, after I was done folding and putting laundry away upstairs, I came downstairs to put the kitchen towels away. When I was about halfway down the stairs, I looked over at Ashlee sitting on the end of the couch. And then I noticed what looked like small pieces of brown hair on the floor. I saw scissors in Ashlee's hand, and I knew what she had done! Sure enough, when I got over to her, I saw that there was a small section of hair that was shorter than the rest! I can't believe she cut her hair. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since both of my boys did the same thing when they were little. Fortunately, it's not very noticeable, so I don't think we need to do anything to try and fix it. I tried for a couple of days to take a picture of it, but Ashlee said she didn't want her picture on the computer because she thought her cousins would laugh at her silly hair! How cute is that! So I took a picture while she was sleeping. And then yesterday Ashlee said she would let me take a picture of her hair if she could take a picture of me first.

First entry of my blog!

Hello to my family and friends! This is my first attempt at blogging, so you will need to bear with me. It might take me a while for me to get the hang of it. My sisters wanted me to start a blog because I live across the country from them and they want to see more pictures of my family. I need to warn you that I am not very good at writing, but I hope you enjoy my blog anyway.
