New house, Wildlife, Old house, Kids

I had to take a picture of my 3 kids playing a game together without fighting!

After a few days of being in our new house, we noticed that there were some turkey vultures on our neighbor's deck and chimney. We actually saw 2 on our chimney (we don't have a fireplace, so I don't know why we have a chimney) just a few days ago. They are really big birds! About a week after we moved in, Dave looked out our bedroom window at our backyard, and saw a fox! He had me come look at it, and it was amazing! It looked like it was hunting, and then it sat and scratched it's ear. I went to get the camera from downstairs, but by the time I got back to the window, the fox was gone. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it. I'm hoping it will come back sometime. Then a little while later, I was opening the blinds in Ashlee's room, and as I did, there was a deer in the back yard! It was awesome to see a deer right in our backyard!

I think all of you know that we have moved. We used to live in Wilmington, Delaware, and now we live in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. We live right across the street from the hotel that Dave works at, so that is nice for him to be that close to his job. The move was hard and exhausting! I spent weeks of packing before we rented a truck for a couple of days to move everything. We had some friends from our Wilmington ward help us move the heavier things, and then we had people from our new ward come and help unload those heavy things into our new house. Dave wasn't able to help very much with the actual packing of things at the old house because of work and school, but he took a couple of vacation days when we rented the truck to move everything into the new house. (It's not actually a new house, but it is new to us!) Most everything is unpacked and put away now. We just need to put up pictures and decorative things. I haven't taken any pictures of our new house yet, but I will so that you all can see this house.

A couple of weeks before we moved, the boys were outside playing and came in telling me there was a snake in the bushes in our front yard. So I went outside to look, and sure enought there was a snake right on top of the bushes. When we looked closer, it acutally was 2 snakes intertwined. They were really neat!

These are pictures of the front, back deck, and backyard of our old house. No one in my family was able to come visit us while we lived here, so I figured I would take some pictures so everyone could see where we lived for 3 years.

Here are some pictures of my 3 wonderful children-David, Carter, & Ashlee!

Aquarium, Anthem, End of School

Dave was able to go with Carter for his end of the year field trip to the New Jersey State Aquarium in Camden, NJ. They had a lot of fun taking pictures! Carter's favorite thing there was the sawshark (the fourth picture).

The 5th grade band got to play the National Anthem at a Blue Rocks game (a minor league baseball team in Wilmington, DE). Carter is in the center of the picture, behind the big bass drum. He is playing the snare drum. The kids had to have the song memorized, and he did really good!

This is after they are done playing and they are leaving the field.

David had to do a report on someone who contributed to history, and he loves cars, so he chose Henry Ford. He even put one of his Ford matchbox cars on his poster!

Carter had to do a report on 4 African-Americans who contributed to history. George Washington Carver discovered more than 300 ways to use peanuts, George Crum invented potato chips (the way they are now), Dr. Charles invented blood banks, and Frederick McKinley Jones invented the automatic refrigeration system for railroad cars and semi-trucks.

I think Ashlee got a hold of my camera and took some pictures!

David's trip to Washington, D.C.

Towards the end of the school year, David was able to go to Washington, D.C. for a field trip for the 6th grade. Dave really wanted to go with them, but we turned in the chaperone form later than other parents, so they already had enough chaperones. We let David take the digital and video cameras, and he had fun taking lots of pictures! He took lots of flower pictures for me, too!
